customizing search result pages links

Post by johnbiggscr »

Is there anyway to customize how the Result Pages links/layout is displayed in a search result?
Right now I have products that appear on various pages so that they can be found by differing means, depending on what the customer is looking for.
This means that some search results have a link to 2 or 3 pages.

Right now this results in a layout similar to:
Results Pages Carlisle 8 Inch Sport Trail 8 Inch tires.

Which is confusing as heck as there is no break between the links, no divider, punctuation, etc. (By the way, the links are Carlisle 8 Inch, Sport Trail, 8 Inch Tires.)
Is there anyway I can change how it is displayed? maybe put different color pipe break between each one or something?

The way the links appear is defined by the template that is configured on Preferences ? Search Settings > Search Layoug >Link Template Override:
If the checkbox is checked then that particular template's [--DEFINE LINK_TO_PAGE--] section will be used for the links. If the box is not checked then the [--DEFINE LINK_TO_PAGE--] of the template defined in the Search Template: section just above will be used.
So you can either modify the [-- DEFINE LINK_To_PAGE --] in the man Search Template or in the Link Template Override template.

Note that if the More information page link is displayed, neither of the above will change it because it is hard coded to be a regular link and a style would have to be assigned to it.
