ShopSite Customers have to pay big for programs like Reports!

Post by ALEXANDRIA »

WISH LIST
You say you offer a wish list but what this does is takes your customer to another site to buy another companies product and the company hosting the wish list is getting paid by you the Shopsite customer to send them your customer list. IT TAKES YOUR CUSTOMER OFF YOUR SITE!

To have a real wish list you have to be hosted by the Shopsite hosting company and not by another hosting company which sells Shopsite.

COUPONS
The coupon feature is for one coupon per customer. Have you ever heard of a coupon for one customer. If you offer a coupon you can't do it by a date range, it has to be for one use only. If you do it by date range one customer can use the coupon numerous times. So if you don't buy the Shopsite add on you have customers using the same coupon over and over again.

SALES REPORTS - THIS IS THE BIG ONE!
When I went with the Shopsite cart I ASSUMED the number one rated shopping cart would have numerous sales reports. Only if you have a $5000.00 windows based add on can you have real sales reports or you can do a lot of work every time you need a sales or customer report.

FREE shopping carts have better sales reports and it is free. I wish I had stayed with my free cart. I can't now in this economy.

Shopsite has an forum with all the requests like this and nothing has been done for years to make it easier.

I have realized their whole game is to get you to buy and then hike up the price by making you buy all the add on programs to make your life not a living H----.

So please don't believe Shopsite has what they say you need.

Overall I'm happy with shopsite but I totally agree with you. I also wonder if they have a deal with the 3rd parties to not add these in to their own software. It seems like pretty basic things that every other shopping cart system I have used in the past has had.

Did you have to post your subject line in all caps? Now when I post, my post will be overshadowed by your subject line. Your post is the only post that used all caps on that page.

I modified all subject lines by the original poster that were in all caps so the would be normal case.

I have to agree. I have 5 Shopsite stores and I can't even get a simple tally of products sold from within Shopsite. There so many features that could be easily integrated into Shopsite I just don't get it. I already pay for web hosting, Shopsite Pro, Authorize.net, credit card companies and on and on. I don't think I should be required to hire professionals, pay for add on modules etc. to have a the same features as a cheapo Yahoo store.

I do apologize for all caps. I looked at these forms before I bought Shopsite and a new website over $15,000.00 and never saw anything on this. I wanted to warn others the number one rated shopping cart doesn't give you simple product sales reports the free shopping carts do. When I had X-Cart I could do a monthly sales report to input into my accounting program in 5 min. It would give me totals and everything I needed for accounting. It takes over an hour to get a report I can use and I am not sure of the totals.

ShopSite is a shopping cart package, not accounting, we down load very easily in to Quicken Books and are able to generate what ever reports we need.

I am not asking it to do accounting just a sales report. I just want a list of products sold by name and total for that product for the month. One column for product name, one column for amount sold and one column for total sale of product with total sales for the month at the bottom. And not have it take me an hour to do and not be sure it is correct.

This is a simple sales report not an accounting program report. I don't use Quick Books for accounting. So I have to go buy Quick Books in PC and I am on a Mac. Another $400.00 for a simple sales report?

I could then enter this simple sales report into my accounting program. Free shopping carts have up to 25 reports on sales. You are able to drill down to find all kinds of sales information. I am just asking for a simple sales report.
