Setting my documentroot directly on Verio

Post by jimk »

We use Verio to host our shopsite cart and on the
ShopSite-->Preference--->Hosting Services screen, verio greys out the following entries.

Store URL: http://ourdomain.com/store
ShopSite Images URL: http://ourdomain.com/store/shopsite-images

Currently I have to use the .htaccess to do a 301 redirect to my url: http://ourdomain.com/store/index.html which is not ideal.

Questions:
1. Where is the master configuration shopsite file where I can change the information manually?

2. Does anyone know how search engines react to redirects like this for generio seo results?

Verio is not the one greying out the 'Store URL' value, it is greyed out because it is contained in the encrypted license file of your store, it is not a setting that can simply be changed.

So to change it you would need to contact Verio and ask them to create a new license for you containing just your domain name instead of your domain with the /store subdirectory. They should be able to do this for you, as well as actually move the files from /store to the document root directory and make the other adjustments necessary to make this happen.

We use Verio and ours is setup the same way. Works fine.
