Sales Tax not working?

Hi all,

I would like to set a sales tax for a particular state in the US. The sales tax works for products that gives free shipping on the checkout page. However, it does not calculate the sales tax if customer will have to select the shipping options available on the checkout page. Anyone knows what is this so? Thanks

Are you using a ShopSite provided shopping cart template? If not maybe you haven't included all the template tags needed to display the tax and shipping fields. Can you provide a link to a store page so we can add a product to the cart and see what you are meaning?

Hi Jim,

I am using my own customized template. For example, if i order this product on this link that does not provide free shipping, http://x-men-paradise.just-marvel-x-men ... inata.html, and i try to apply the sales tax it does not work.

However, for this product, http://x-men-paradise.just-marvel-x-men ... ume-1.html,
that has free shipping is able to apply sales tax.
