Hi there,
We're a non-profit organization that sells our
films online, and when people buy a DVD, they often give us a donation as
well. Is there a way that we can set things up with software like Ultimate Affiliate so our affiliates would get a commission on the sale of certain items such as DVDs, but not get a commission on donations customers make? So essentially, what I am looking for is the ability to set different commisions with different products.
If UA won't do this, is there a Shopsite compatible package that will?
Thanks!
James LaVeck
Can Ultimate Affiliate vary commisions by product?

The normal behavior for Ultimate Affiliate (and many/most other affiliate programs) is to just provide them with a single dollar amount, generally the shopping cart subtotal.
If you had ShopSite Pro and you had a unique way to flag 'commissionable' products (i.e. their SKU's all start with a certain prefix, or they all have a certain bit of text in one of the extra product fields, etc), then with custom programming it should be possible to only total up these products and send that amount to the affiliate tracking program instead of the cart subtotal.
So, it's not specifically a feature of ShopSite, nor of Ultimate Affiliate, but something that an integrator should be able to do with custom programming.
