SSL/TLS

Post by gourmetdelights »

Running ShopSite® Pro 14.0 r1 hosted by Lexiconn

I read this:

https://www.shopsite.com/blog/2018/08/how-to-have-google-chrome-recognize-your-store-as-secure/

went through the steps, and got a "Success".

But looking at my site in Chrome it still says "not fully secure"

BUT ONLY when I click on the "Home link" in black that is part of the CropCircles Template Image

If I click on "HOME" which is the link I created Image it IS SECURE.

I believe the "Use SSL/TLS security in ShopSite Generated Pages and the order screen" is SUPPOSED TO reconfigure ShopSite to use HTTPs for ALL of the images AND LINKS that it generates.

But it missed one.

Any thoughts/help/advice is appreciated.

Thank you.

It also shows NOT SECURE if I'm in my Control Panel and just click "View Site" Image

Try changing the 'My Store URL' setting at the top of Preferences > Hosting Service to use https:// instead of http://, Save Changes and Publish.

Thank you Loren. That worked.

I feel pretty stupid as I did not "publish", I only "Saved changes" and since the little orange "publish changes" box did not pop up, I didn't do anything further. So I just did a Utilities >> Publish >> Regenerate and it all worked like a charm.

one final question, if I go to Chrome, and just type in gourmet-delights.com it is showing not secure.

Since I doubt customers know to type in https://gourmet-delights.com

how can I get it to default to the https when someone simply types in gourmet-delights.com?

Thanks again.

Well, how to force/redirect all access to your site to https:// even if they initially come in via http:// can vary by host and type of hosting plan, but in general a .htaccess rerwite can do this, follow the link in section #2 in the following ShopSite Knowledgebase article for examples of .htaccess rewrite code for this:
