Sub Product Pages

Im having trouble getting the page links to "sub pages" to show up on the store pages I set up as a main catagory page. Should I not be attempting to approach sub products with pages or am I probably just missing something from my custom store page template or link override template? My store page template has no Link Loop tags. Is this the problem or is the Link Override template in need of something? I would sure appreciate help from one of you advanced shopsiters.

Please explain in more detail what you are trying to do.

If you are trying to create links to other pages in you store then your template should contain the Loop Links code because that is what generates the html for the links. And the page template should contain the section [--DEFINE LINK_TO_PAGE--] Which defines formatting for the links.

The Link Override template is just used for search results so from what you are describing this probably would not relate to your situation.

Yes, sorry my message should have been more descriptive. Hope this one isn’t too long.
What I’m trying to do is have main category pages (e.g. Lamps and Lighting), which displays links to pages containing a group of products that would fall under that category, like “Lenses.html”, “Bulbs.html”, etc. So instead of having sub products, I wanted individual sub product pages.

The existing site has product in general category pages. But there is a need for further grouping of product types. It seemed for the Lamps and Lighting page it would make sense to put sub categories of the general categories on their own pages so the user could see the photos with the descriptions instead of using drop-down menus or some other form of sub products.

I had created the new sub pages with in the Back Office and assigned the appropriate products. The new pages showed up in my List of Pages so I cleared the products from the general category page and assigned the new pages as items on that page. But when I checked the Links and Lighting page in shopsite’s preview, it was now without any product. When I looked at the server with an FTP utility, I could see that Shopsite had generated pages named “Page32.html, Page33.html” etc.

When I view the Edit Page Content Page and “select the pages that link to this one”, the main category page (Lamps and Lighting) does show up.

My custom store template uses direct hypertext links so I had taken out the Loop Links code, thinking I didn’t need them (dumb).

So I dropped this in:

Now the storefront template is showing no product on any pages, only the banner. YIKES! Client will not be happy!

The site is www.apartswarehouse.com. Below is my custom template. Theres a lot going on but if you scroll to the end you’ll get past a lot of Javascript and HTML code.

I just stuck the Define link to Page part but it didn’t help . Im getting too tired to think…..
