menu on the more info page?

Postby anxiouskittie » Mon Jun 04, 2007 1:51 pm

How do I add my menu to the more info products pages?

I have a menu in html that i wrote myself, that i put in the text2 box in my normal pages. I think it's easier, well at least it is for me. (i use cross sell sky page template).

Anyone with detailed steps on how to do this? I read one question about "tabs" and more info pages, but i didn't get it. *slow*

:)

What kind of menu are you trying to add? What are you trying to get it to do?

Products know nothing about pages in your store so the only way you can get the menus like that is to copy the html code for the menu from the page source and paste it into the [-- DEFINE MORE_INFO_PAGE --] section of the template you are using for your products.

You could also put the source for the menu in a separate file and use an [-- INCLUDE {filename} --] statement in the [-- DEFINE MORE_INFO_PAGE --] to reduce the amount of text in the product template.

Sounds good! thanks lots.

but problem now is, I will use the "One Line" template for my PRODUCTS... I can't find tihs template anywhere to _edit_ :S I've looked in templates, and it's just not there.

And, does it matter where in the [-- DEFINE MORE_INFO_PAGE --] i paste the content?

Do you have the ability to make complete templates for your store?

If so, you just might want to "skin" your website by using

[-- DEFINE (page / product / moreinfo) --]
[-- INCLUDE (header file) PROCESS --]
[-- INCLUDE (menu) PROCESS --]

(page / product / more info items )

[-- INCLUDE (footer) PROCESS --]

The One Line product template is a template that is built into the software and it cannot be edited. So you would need to create your own template so the product looks like what the one line template display.

Since the More Info page is defined as part of the product template you would also need to create that part of the template and then you would place the html for the menu in the appropriate location so it displays where you want it.
