Is there a way to have Shopsite send an e-mail automatically when we pay
orders. This would be a great customer service tool. If it can't be done
it should be included in the next release.

Try Stone Edge's Order Manager at www.stoneedge.com. I have many different personalized email templates that go to customers including payment, credit, shipping, backordered, drop shipped, and partial shipment messages to name but a few. You can include whatever information you want in the template and Order Manager fills in the blanks with a personalized, accurate message about their order. Here's an example where all I did was choose the template...you don't have to hit send if you set it up to go out automatically when you approve an order.

Hi Linda,

Thank you for your order. To give you the speediest service
possible, your in stock items have been shipped. You also
selected made to order items which will be arriving in a separate
package.

We hope you had a good experience at Switch Hits and we
look forward to serving you again.

I also have Stone Edge and if someone has Shopsite and doesn't use Stone Edge they are missing a great program that will make their life much easier.

I don't do most of my billing in Stone Edge (Yes you can charge your customers from the Stone Edge program), I do use Shopsite. If there was a generic pre-programmed message that Shopsite could send like the message the customer gets when they place an order, it would help customers to know their order has shipped.

Why would you want to use two programs to track your orders? If you bill your orders through OM, then you've got all your payment and shipping information together. And if you need to credit an account, then it's just another 2 clicks. I don't understand why you would want to use Shop Site to approve an order.

We have too many orders and doing them individually takes too long. I have a Yahoo store that requires us to pay each order and it takes way too long. I can still issue credits in OM even though I don't bill through OM. For refunds, Stone Edge Order manager is fantastic. Auto e-mails when orders are paid in Shopsite would be a big service to the customers.

Do you have the Order Manager set to automatically "approve" ShopSite orders whenever possible? If so, you could have the Order Manager capture the credit card payments and send out emails for those orders during the import process. That way you would not have to capture the payments individually.

That is a great system as long as you ship the orders. In some cases we don't have what a customer orders or we alter the order (remove unnecessary shipping charges or improper tax charges). It is a lot safer for us to bill our customers after the orders ship
