can we use the formmail script in shopsite for creating forms. could you advise where to place the script and any advice on this.

Because you can enter HTML in most text area settings in ShopSite, you can place your FormMail form pretty much anywhere, for example in a Page's Text 1, Text 2, Text 3, etc, or a Product's Description and More Info Page Text, or the Page Header or Footer. Or you could put it in your custom HTML in a custom page or product template. It is just HTML, so you can put it almost anywhere. Beyond just putting the HTML for the form in a ShopSite text field, ShopSite is not integrated in any other way with FormMail.

As to where you have to put the actual FormMail.pl script on your server and how to set it up, you should ask your hosting provider about this. Some hosts even have FormMail.pl already installed and configured on their server for you to use.
