Basic Example of products page

Can someone provide a basic example of how I can use drop down menus for color and size and then submit that with an add cart button?

I am trying to avoid making a page for every color and size. I want a more dynamic page. Shows one style, and the customer can choose thier size and color.
From what I think I understand, I need to create variables for color and size. Then use drop down menus or links to set the variables to the color and size the customer chooses. Then submit, via form, using the add cart button the string that will add the proper SKU to the cart. I think.

You configure the dropdown menu options on the Products >Edit Product Info screen in the field named Ordering Options > Pull-down Menus

The options are specified one to a line with different options being separated by a blank line like

Color;n
Red
Blue
Green

Size;n
Small
Medium
Small

To get the options to display on a ShopSite generate page go to Products > Edit Product Layout and check the box Display Ordering Options:

Now if you are using Order Anywhere links go to the Merchandising > OrderAnywhere screen and copy the html to your pages.

If you are using ShopSite built in templates, when you generate the page with the product assigned it will display the options.

Note that the ;n at the end of the color and size text will make the field a required value so the shopper can't checkout of the shopping cart without having made a selection. YOu can also change price depending on options in Pro and Manager level stores. Search the online help for "order Option Pricing" to get more information.
