Do you only want them to download the information after they have made the purchase?

we would like the customer have an option to download technical specification in .pdf or .doc for them to learn about the products better before purchasing. this is because some technical information with drawings and graft are just too much to squeeze into the more information page. beside that it take too much to find how to convert them into html.

thanks jim

Upload the file to your server like you would an image. Then in the product description put a sentence telling them they can download the file and an href to the file like this

If you want you can <a href="media/mastery.pdf">Download pdf file</a>

Or if the file is on another server you can specify the full path to the file like
If you want you can <a href="http://yourdomain.com/store/media/mastery.pdf">Download pdf file</a>

If you want a fancier way to do it without putting HTML code in your product description (which could be problematic if you export the description for use elsewhere), you could put the URL to the PDF file in one of the extra product fields (in SSPro), then update your product template to pull the information from that field in an href tag off a text link or perhaps a "Download Tech Sheet" graphic.
