Cant turn on registration function get error.....

Postby bbrandriff » Mon Apr 02, 2007 4:14 pm

HI,

I had to shut a site for for owner transfer of the store. I had disabled the registration feature, also I upgraded during the down time the shopping program to the lastest patch level of 8.2.1.1.

When I try to turn on the all users must register I get the error below. Nothing shows in CPANEL error logs.

406 Not Acceptable
An appropriate representation of the requested resource /cgi-bin/ss/cr_configure.cgi could not be found on this server.

Apache/1.3.37 Server at www.celticoutfitters.com Port 80

Thanks,
Barry

HI

I am still looking for an answer to this problem.

The file is in the correct directory and permissions are set to 755.

Also tried reloading the file in binary format from the backups.

Please Help!

Thanks,
Barry

Going to customer registration changes to a secure url. Maybe you have the wrong secure url configured in ShopSite or the way your secure server is setup it can't find the cgi-bin directory.

I don't think it either of these.

Because other functions with https: do work in the back office area.

If I goto save the customer registration page or cancel I get the same results.

Would it be a symlink ?

Can you go to the checkout page of your shopping cart, It is also secure?

There should be symlinks in the sc directory to the
<storeid>.aa file in the ss directory,
<storeid>.auth in the store's data directory,
libsscommon.so.1 in the ss directory,
localeinfor.dat in the ss directory
global.aa in the ss directory

note: <storeid> above is the login name for your store
