Return To Shopping Button

Postby MarkB » Mon Mar 19, 2007 11:25 am

On the Commerce Setup -> Shopping Cart screen I have the following option set:

Return To Shopping Button: (*) Return the user to last page ordered from

But whenever I click on the "Continue Shopping" button in my cart, it always takes me back to the index.html page. Do I have something misconfigured?

I'd like the "Continue Shopping" button to return the user to the last page they were on before adding the item to their cart.

Suggestions?

If you have the setting set to return the shopper to the last page ordered from but that is not what is happening for you, then this is likely a problem for your computer because of an application installed on your computer that is preventing the browser from providing the referring page info to the shopping cart. In this case, the information about where the shopper came from is just not available to the shopping cart, so the only thing it can do in this instance is return the shopper to the storefront. In modern versions of ShopSite, the URL it will return them to in this scenario is the My Store URL specified in Preferences -> Hosting Service.

So to verify that the return to last page ordered from function is working you could try ordering from several other computers in other locations.

Ok, Loren... I'll give it a try (another computer).

Any way I can update the link manually of the "Continue Shopping" button to use JavaScript to perform a BACK function?

I tried my site from my other computer and the "continue shopping" button returned me correctly to the previous page. Thanks for the tidbit on that!

Any idea what's "blocking" me on this computer? I'm not sure what to look for.
