productsearch.cgi temporarily disabled

I have a client that had a shopsite store setup by another company and the search function is not working. When you enter any search criteria and hit submit, it just displays a page that says "productsearch.cgi temporarily disabled". I have looked through the search settings, the store setup, the help section, the online knowledgebase, and the forums but can find nothing on how to fix this.

Any help would appreciated.

There is nothing in ShopSite to temporarily disable the search so the host must have replaced the productsearch.cgi with their own version that displays that message.
