In ShopSite 5 there is no automated way to compute UPS shipping. You
could create a table based on your location and the various UPS zones
but the shopper will have to select the appropriate zone from a drop
down list.

In ShopSite 6, UPS is integrated so that the shopper enters the zip code
where the order is being shipped and in real time ShopSite contacts the
UPS server and displays the exact shipping charge. UPS address
validation is also incorporated so if a Shopper enters an incorrect
city/state/zip combination they will be warned of the error so they can
correct it.

Hi,

I am a little confused about shipping options. Is there a way to use
shopsite and UPS shipping so that it calculates by weight and zone? I do
not believe it is an option in Manager 5.0, correct?

I see in the manager version (5.0) there is a link to UPS Online Tools. Is
that a solution and once set up, does it work automatically to calculate
shipping while still inside the shopsite cart? Does it cost anything?

Does 6.0 offer a newer shipping solution?

I appreciate your help. Kevin Sullivan

Hi Shawn,

I too use Lexiconn, for the past 4 years and can't say enough about them.
My site is never down, they are always responsive and helpful and know
shopsite very very well. I think they are on Linux, and not NT, but I
personally think that's a good thing. Give them a call...

HI:
Our web site is currently hosted by www.interland.com but we want to
move our web site to a new ISP due to all the problems we have had with
them. (They have had our site down twice last year and now our e-mail
server is on a Black list so we can't e-mail most customers who use AOL
, MSN, etc)

We need to host on a Windows NT platform
We are looking for 24 hr 800 number support
We need an ISP that really knows ShopSite

We have looked into: az-web.com, basislink.com and yourhost.com. Does
anyone use these ISPs or have any other suggestions.

Thanks
Shawn M

Thats sounds great... But can you then add a % on top of the actual cost
that the UPS servers gives back? Or add a flat rate plus mark-up...

No, UPS licensing forbids adding 'handling' charges as part of their
rates. You could use the Surcharge option in ShopSite Pro (not in
Manager or Lite or Starter) to add a flat 'handling' charge, either flat
fee per product or a flat fee per order. The Surcharge documentation can
be found here:

Funny that I should find your post...I'm trying to escape Interland too and
the horrors that I have been experiencing with them and Miva. Anyway, I am
shopping for both a new cart and a new web hosting company so I am reading
the UserGroup prior to making the move to ShopSite.
