Problems with Search function

I reviewed the topic appearing Nov 8th for instructions on how to get the search function working in my custom index page for the storefront. After adding the suggested code I still get the following message when publishing my store:

"Generating Page:[index.html]
No changes were necessary. Your store is up to date.
Index: No store page has a search field; indexing not performed.
Generation successful. You can now view your store.""

I can't determine why the search form on the index page is not being recognized. Please help.

A ShopSite generated page must have the search box on it. This means that one of your pages in ShopSite needs to have the box checked to put the form on that page. If you have just copied code for the form for search and put it on a page that you created outside of ShopSite that will not enable the search indexing.
