We are now giving away our Shopsite Pro Module

Postby topher » Wed Dec 06, 2006 10:15 am

About six months ago, we wrote a pretty darn awesome (if I do say so myself) add-on module for Shopsite Pro.

It's a super search module written in PHP and mySQL.

With the launch of our new website this week, we're making a new, stronger committment to the Shopsite Community. The Free add-on module, is just the beginning.

Hi Chris:

I believe your search module is used on http://www.villagehatshop.com/

I spoke to you early this year about adding it to our site but I opted to stick with a slightly enhanced version of Shopsite's native search which is tolerable for our limited product line.

Your module would be invaluable for a larger site. I love the way it suggests alternatives for misspelled words. Using Lexiconn's search stats module, I can see that many searchers can't spell/type accurately and give up after a try or two.

Am I correct that your module must be hosted on your machines?

Super Search can be hosted anywhere

When we first introduced the module we required it to be hosted on our own servers. This was more of a quality control function than anything.

We do not require it to be hosted with Basiclink anymore. As matter of fact we used Shopsite Pro's Digital Downloads to offer it on our site.

So if you've never seen Digital Downloads in action, that's an added bonus. (Shopsite's Digital Downloads feature is pretty cool! - Think e-books! )

hmmm, I just placed an order for the module on your site. Can't seem to find a link to the digital download on the thankyou.cgi page, or in the email receipt...

[edit] nvm, download email arrived approx 15 mins after order was placed.

Don't want to misguide anyone with my previous statement::
I believe your search module is used on http://www.villagehatshop.com/

Village hat shop, I've now learned, uses another search method--a very expensive one.
