Problem with Permissions

New user of Shopsite. I'm trying to get product images loaded.
I'm getting the following message when trying to upload/view images:

(#11100189) Unable to open file [/usr/local/apache/htdocs/store/media/.inf.ting-shamp.jpg] for writing!:
Permission denied

I've checked all the permissions and they seem to be appropriate. I don't know where else to look. Can't find any references to the error code in the knowledgebase.

the .inf... files are created by ShopSite and contain information for displaying the image on a web page. Since ShopSite is running as the webserver the directory where the image are located (media) and all sub directories need to have read and write permission for the webserver user.

Thanks for your reply. I've checked the permissions again and I'm still getting the same error. Since I'm not able to even view the pics I suspect there's something fairly high-level that I'm overlooking.

I also checked my etc/group file to make sure the appropriate owner:group was used.

Any other suggestions. Time is running thin

Have you given the site too much permissions? On some operating systems too much permissions will prevent access.
To find the root of the problem it will probably require server access. Please contact the host of your website. If they are a ShopSite partner they should provide support for you. If they can't/won't help you can purchase a support incident from http://www.shopsite.com/support_pricing.html.
