multi-item discount, but different products

Postby myershudson » Sun Nov 26, 2006 11:16 am

Hello, We are trying to set up multi-item discount pricing for products. The company offers a multi-item discount on bags of dog food. If you buy 2 bags of Food A, or one bag of Food A and one bag of Food B, the second bag of one of them costs $21 instead of the single bag price of $24.

If we can get past that, the sixth bag goes back to $24. Seventh through 10th bag are $21/each.

We can't find a way to have the cart recognize this type of discount. Having the right calculation is one problem. Client 'would also like' to show it as a line item discount. "You saved $3."

Thanks!

Quantity pricing is only available for a single item and can't be used across several items.

You could create a coupon that would give a certain amount off based on the quantity of items place in the cart. This can be configured to be from a selected list of products.

There is also the Rewards program which allows you to get something free with the purchase of x number of other items.

There is a "You Saved" option available for Pro level stores. You configure it on the Commerce Setup > Order System > Shopping cart screen. It displays a saving based on coupons and discount schedule saving.

I've noticed this too and its probably something that should be addressed in future Shopsite upgrades. I have a product that comes in 10 colors and there is no way for the customer to specify 1-Red Polo and then 1-Blue Polo and then get the discount for buying two.
