International non-compatibility of ShopSite ?

I was cheking out the ShopSite demo with the thought of using ShopSite for a small Australian venture, however I struck a hitch when it DEMANDED a "State/Province" at checkout but does not cater for NON USA states for the purchaser.
I can't see anything in the FAQ regarding this.

You have a few options to deal with this:

1. You can make the State field a text box instead of dropdown and not mark it as required under Commerce Setup -> Order System -> Checkout

2. You can edit the list of states in the dropdown and add one at the top that is of the format (You can type in the dropdown):
None;none
Not Applicable;NA
etc...
Commerce Setup -> State and Country
