After a few customers got stuck using our Customer Registration feature, I decided to look at it more closely. It seems that, once customers register with their name, e-mail address, and preferences, they are re-directed to the Customer Registration index page, with buttons for "Preferences, " "Ship To", "Payment," etc. Most of them seem to be used to entering their billing and shipping info as part of the Registration process, so they click the "Ship-to" button to enter their Shipping Information. Of course, this leaves them stuck, because new addresses can't be entered this way. The system only allows them to edit previously stored ones (which, if they just signed up, they have none). They have to go "Back to Cart" to enter address information and continue. It seems to me this is a bit unclear (and counter to the standard flow of most registration systems I've seen). I've added explanatory text for now as follows: "This section is for modifying previously submitted addresses, etc. only. To provide a NEW billing or shipping address, please click the "Back to Cart" button and proceed with your order. The new address will be saved into your account upon completion of your order." I'm also going to re-do the buttons with better wording.
Are there any plans to modify the flow of this so that the addresses are entered within the registration process.....or perhaps upon successful registration, re-direct people back to the shopping cart with a "Registration complete. Please proceed with your order" message instead of dumping them into the Registration Menu?
Sincerely,
Chris
