Newbie advice please

Postby HWND » Fri Sep 01, 2006 12:46 am

Hi,

Found this site through my Powweb accounts and wondered if you could help me out.

I've got about 500 items I'd like to sell via my existing website. I don't plan to run a store for more than 6 months maxmium - in fact would hope to sell the majority of stock in 2/3 months.

I'm a bit confused by the options avaiable to me.

Starter package is limited to 15 items? So that's out of the question?

Is "Add To Cart" limited in such a way? Would I need to set up a Manager account anyway to use this function?

Could any membership be cancelled after 3 months or so?

I'd only want payment by cheque (UK) or Paypal - is that possible?

Many thanks for any help you can provide!

If you have more than 15 items you would need either a Manager or Pro level store. If you already have a website with all your products displayed on the pages you could use the Order AnyWhere feature to create add to cart links to put on your pages. In this case all you you would need to enter into your ShopSite store would be the product name, SKU and price.

You can configure ShopSite to accept just cheque (UK) and/or Paypal if you would like.

I'm not sure what you mean by "Could any membership be cancelled after 3 months or so? "

Do you mean a ShopSite store? If so ShopSite is available in two types of plans depending on the hosting partner where the store is installed. It is available as a monthly leased store at many hosting sites. In this case the cost is generally included in the monthly price you pay for hosting your website. The hosting partner may have a minimum number of months that is required when you set up an account with them. ShopSite is also available on a one time purchase basis at some hosting partners. In this case you purchase the license outright and may move the store to any web server that you would like. Again there may be a minimum time that a hosting partner would require when you set up your account.
