More Info Page Questions

Postby Lynn K. » Thu Aug 24, 2006 8:52 am

Just starting out with ShopSite (Ver 8.01) here and have some newbie questions. I'm using the Tab style template set and would like a More Info page that has the graphic on the left with the text wrapped around the right and below the graphic. I also would like a Back button next to the Add to Cart and View Cart buttons. The templates that wrap the text around the graphic do not have a back button.

Actually, I'd really like my tab top links at the top of the page as well but right now I'd settle for less.

I've been playing with the custom product page templates but it seems I don't have access to all of them that are listed in the product lay out menu. And it also appears that the define more info field calls upon other files that I do not have access to. I've FTP'ed into the directory and cannot locate any templates at all so I'm assuming my host does provide access to them directly???

Help!

Thank you.

A custom product template is probably the best way to go for all the customizations you want to use. You can copy the tab template to your own template and edit it from there.

A moreinfo page does not use the same navigation as the regular page templates. You can hardcode navigation in the universal header, or build it directly into the custom product template, or use an include and call it from the moreinfo section of the product template.

Not all product templates are able to be copied, as some of the older ones are built into the code of ShopSite and are not direct templates. Per the moreinfo section calling on other files, these are ShopSite include files. You can actually copy these in the backoffice under:
Merchandising -> Custom Templates

Go down to the bottom of the page and click "Copy ShopSite Include", find the include you want, copy it to your own name, and then you can view/edit it.

Thank you, thank you! I never would have thought to look at the More Include files. I should be able to wing it from here.

Again, I thank you as I was awake all night stewing about this one.

Regards,
