Looks like you ran out of disk space. You need to get more disk space (increase quota, remove unnecessary files etc). You will need at least 3 times the total size of your pages.db, products.db and shopsite_db. Then restore from your backup and run the upgrade again.

It depends on how far the upgrade had progressed. I assume that since you got to the database upgrades that the cgi upgrades completed successfully?

Were there any errors before the one you mentioned?

If there weren't any prior errors you can probably just restore your data directory from backup and then rerun the install.

No Errors before or after that point

Postby bbrandriff » Tue Aug 22, 2006 7:00 pm

HI

There were no errors before or after that point.

Which backup do mean ?

The automatic one that the upgrade does or my manual backup to my hard drive?

And would I have to reupload all the upgrade files or just the data.tar files?

If you had ShopSite do a backup you could just restore from that backup. If you didn't then you would need to get it from whereever you put the manual one you did.

Normally the install files would still be on the server so you shouldn't have to re upload them.

had site restored to 2 ago now can't get cgi's to run again

Postby bbrandriff » Wed Aug 23, 2006 4:31 pm

HI Again,

What a mess this turning out to be. I had my host do a restore from 2 days ago and now the shopping cart wont run and cant get into the back office either.

I am getting the following errors in the error logs for the site.

Premature end of script headers: /home/-/public_html/cgi-bin/ss/start.cgi

I have set the permisions to 755.

I remember when my host moved to a new server platform we had these errors and it was the symlinks not being set.

What should be set as symlinks?

And would upgrading take care of these problems, I am kinda thinking getting it running again then upgrade.

Upgrading a non- functioning store won't fix anything. You need to get it working again before you try the upgrade.

Premature end of script errors can mean just about any thing. Basically that's the web server's way of saying "Something went wrong" Generally not very helpful

the following symlinks need to exist

ss directory
<storeid>.auth -> <data directory>/<storeid>.auth file (<storeid> is what your login name is)
libgcc_s.so.1 -> sc/libgcc_s.so.1
libpfpro.so -> sc/libpfpro.so
libsqlite.so.0 -> sc/libsqlite.so.0
libsqlite3.so.0 -> sc/libsqlite3.so.0
certs -> sc/certs

sc directory
<storeid>.auth to the data directory <storeid>.auth file
<storeid>.aa to the ss directory <storeid>.aa file
global.aa -> /home/jim/automation/ss/global.aa
libsscommon.so.1 -> ss/libsscommon.so.1
localeinfo.dat -> ss/localeinfo.dat

You might want to consider purchasing a support incident and have the ShopSite support team find out what is wrong and help with the upgrade. You can purchase support incidents at:
