Can the discount schedule be applied to only certain items?

I have the items categorized in the custom fields within each product.

The discount schedule applies to all items. There is no way to have it apply to only certain items.

You could use the quantity based discount feature on a per product basis, or a coupon that only applies to certain products to offer per product discounts.
