Can we use an "affiliation network" with ShopSite®

Postby A Stewart » Wed Jan 16, 2002 8:19 am

Hi

We need to join an affiliate network (e.g. UKAffliates or TradeDoubler).
Mainly because we need cookie tracking and secondly because we
only want to write one check (cheque) per month.

Basically we need to customise the Thank you page and
put a script on to it. This script will need to call pixel
on the affiliate network provider's server and to pass various
parameters e.g. Sale Value, Invoice Number, and Affiliate ID
back to the affiliate network provider's server, as part
of the URL string of the pixel.

Is this possible?
What is involved?
What would it be likely to cost?
Have any other ShopSite merchants done this before?

Our Shopsite resellers (Venus Internet Ltd in the UK) are
rather sucking their teeth saying that this might be possible
but the're not sure...

Alec

P.S. Yes we are already use the affilitation facilities that
come with shopsite, but they are insufficient for us.

Yes, it is possible, it requires the use of the OrderAPI and a custom
program to put that information on the screen. It is not very
complicated and has been done before. Depending on your specs and who
you contract to do it, this would probably cost from $150 to $500.

If you need any development work I can help with this. I have done
something similar with a client and the OrderAPI.
