Title Tages

Postby Paul Perris » Sun Jan 08, 2006 7:34 am

Does anybody know of a way to have the title tag different to the page name
created from within Shopsite - a nice new
feature would be page name and then page title for search engine use.

Cheers

Paul; Could you give an example of a page name and its page title (for
search engines)?

Hi Larry,

For example our main intro page I have called:

Fancy Dress - Fancy Dress Costumes and Party Supplies from Party Domain (To
make sense on search)

But in Shopsite I would like to call the page - Home (To make sense to me)

Cheers,

Paul

Paul, I was just going to bring up the same subject.

With Shopsite, <description> and page file name can be easily crafted for
any page
to produce optimal results. That's great. But it is hard to create a unique
title for each
page. ie. <title>blue widgets</title>

My experience is that Title plus File Name plus Content plus inbound Links
produce the
best search engine ranking. Description plays a role too, I assume.

Here's a brand new article on the importance of the Page Title in search
Engine
Optimization (and for other reasons)

http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum78/10443.htm

-------------
Note that article also says: "no double title tags. All the engines have
penalties now"

With all of SS's included content it is easy to create pages with multiple
titles.
