We'd like to give the option for our local customers to pick up their order
at our physical store. Any way to not charge them shipping during the
checkout process?

Just create another shipping method named Store Pickup or Customer Pickup
and add $0 to the shipping cost.

Sorry - I cannot figure out how to add another shipping method. I'm in
COMMERCE SETUP / SHIPPING and now I don't know where to add another shipping
method.

What shipping methods do you have selected? If you have one of the
ShopSite methods such as Shipping by Weight just set one of those
options to be Pick UP at store and set the price to 0.00.

Great - I figured it out --- now, when I add an item to my basket and I get
to the shopping cart screen, I am immediately asked to "Choose a Shipping
option" and it initially displays "Customer Pick-up ($0.00)" on the page
(not even the UPS options) EVEN BEFORE I input my zip code. I think that's
going to be confusing for my customers. Any way to not display "Customer
pickup" shipping option until AFTER they've typed in their zip code. To me,
it makes sense because why do I need your zipcode if you're going to pick up
your order? But, knowing my customers, they are going to be utterly
confused. Any insights?
