ShopSite Customization Work Required

Postby Ian Scorer » Sun Dec 05, 2004 11:30 am

Hello,

I'm in the process of relaunching my new website using ShopSite (v7.1.1) but
I have a sticky problem regarding payment gateways.

My company is based in Thailand and as such our business bank account is
with a Thai bank. Our existing website accepts payment from our customers
using my bank's own Payment Gateway (which is also linked to my Merchant
Account with the same bank).

The problem is that ShopSite does not support my bank's Payment Gateway "out
of the box".

I suppose I could simply change to a Payment Gateway that is supported by
ShopSite, but from the research I've done so far that looks to be an
expensive business, due in large part I believe to my location - Thailand.
The companies offering payment gateway services that I've looked into so far
seem to want a lot more money from companies operating in South-East Asia,
far more than I am paying for my current payment gateway, which has also
been extremely reliable over the past three years. So in a nutshell, I'm
reluctant to change to another payment gateway.

So, I need to get ShopSite to "speak" with my current Payment Gateway, which
I assume would require customization of some ShopSite scripts. Is there
anyone out there who has had to do this kind of work before? Or is there
anyone who has had to employ someone to do it for them? I've fired off a few
e-mails to some of the Certified ShopSite Developers listed on the ShopSite
website, as ShopSite themselves recommended when I contacted them.

Any assistance or advice you can offer would be very much appreciated.

Regards,

Ian

I don't think there is such a thing as "Certified ShopSite Developers",
there is a "Certified ShopSite Designer" program though
(http://www.shopsite.com/csd.html). These are generally graphical
designers, though perhaps there may be a few who are custom programming
developers as well. You may also want to check the list of developers
who have already written custom programs to work with ShopSite, some are
listed at: http://www.shopsite.com/partners-tools.html
