Upgrade support?

Postby Nikolaus Gruchot » Fri Nov 23, 2001 3:20 am

Hi there,

find included below my exchange concerning a Shopsite Upgrade with Interland
formerly Hostpro formerly VServers. The migrations they are talking about is
nothing I want to do as it will not bring any advantages for us. The only
shopping cart system Interland is describing in their webpages is the MIVA
cart. I am not willing to give up on Shopsite as I do really like the
system.

Question: Could someone quote me some figures for an ISP independent
upgrade?

Please no emails about changing the ISP, this is already being considered
and we will probably move our web presence from the US provider towards
Germany as we have better oversight here, who is stable and reliable and not
prone to be taken over and taken over and taken over and taken over. I am
sick of this b....s...., being sold to another company and not being
supported properly, this happend twice now.

Niko

Nikolaus,

Interland has made the decision to note perform "add on" for their legacy
products. I believe this "upgrade" would be considered an "add on". We are
encouraging our customers to migrate to our new product line. You can
contact your account manager at 1-800-214-1460 to find the plan that is best
for you.

Dear people @ Interland,

we are an "old time" ->VServer -> Hostpro -> and now Interland customer,
running a Unix VServer Pro product (main domain danshop.com), now billed
through interland.
[...]
What I am trying to figure out: We are running a ShopSite Pro 4.x shopping
cart system on our server and we would like to upgrade to V 5.0.1. According
to the information posted on the ShopSite website, the authorized partner
(->VServer ->HostPro ->Interland(?)) will need to FTP to the ShopSite server
retrieve the upgrade, charge money to the cutomer - us - and install the
upgrade.

Is Interland able/willing/capable to help us to upgrade our ShopSite system
or do I need to contact ShopSite directly. If you can do the upgrade, what
amount in US$ are we looking at?

Thank you for your answer,

Nikolaus Gruchot

ShopSite, Inc. now has fee-based support (since the split from Open Market) for
those whose hosts do not support ShopSite for one reason or the other. You can
find the list here:

Hi Loren,

thank you for pointing this out for me. The Christmas shopping rush is
picking up and in January we will do a big show watersports show event, so I
think we will do all needed changes to our webiste in February -> Moving our
sites to Germany, upgrading the store to 5.x.

I will then take care that the support and the upgrade are purchased
directly through shopsite.

With expression of my best regards,
Niko
