Re: Changing Search Results (want 4 columns)
It is possible but will require special coding in the page, and product
templates and possibly also the link template, so none of the existing
templates could be used out of the box. The default search templates
provided with 7.1 only emulate the way search results were displayed in
version 7.0 they do not incorporate new functionality.
There are some things to consider before implementing the results in
columns. What do you want the results to look like? There may be
several product that match the search that have a single page link.
Subproducts are normally displayed with the parent product how is this
going to be displayed. Some product may not be assigned to a page but
yet will have a search link. etc, etc, etc.

Thanks, Jim.
So, when I set the columns options in Preferences > Search Settings > Search
Layout...I'm just spinning my wheels because it doesn't really do anything?
The site is www.swtrading.net. I would like the results page to look
similar to the rest of the product pages.

Re: Changing Search Results (want 4 columns)
Yep, just checking to use 4 columns doesn't do anything unless the
template is designed to use that feature.
Do you want just the products to display or also the links to the page
where they are found? It would be a lot easier to just have the
products and not the links. That way the search result pages would be
very similar to your normal pages and each product could be purchased
from that page. Adding the link to the associated page would really
complicate things and may look quite different from your normal pages.
What templates are you currently using for search? If they aren't the
default ones can you send me a copy of them?
By the way, are you the store owner? If so can you give me more info on
the JSP Elephant hyde dumbell price tags? I need some that have a
little more than 3/8 inch between the balls and the balls are 1/2 inch
or larger.
