Way to remove "company name" from credit card fiel

Using SS 7.1 Pro. When filling in the Credit Card number, exp. date, name
on card - there is also a field for Company Name. I would like to remove
this field. The customer has already filled in a Company at least once -
twice if shipping to a different address. The Company Name in the credit
card portion is the third time the Company Name is asked for.

Any ideas? Thank you!

There is no way from within ShopSite to remove that field in the credit
card entry area . You can customize the text associated with the field
though.

The 'company' field in the address is used for the company if the person
wants their company name in the shipping address. The 'company' field in
the payment section is for a company name from the credit card, if the
card is a corporate card. These could very well be different, and
neither are required fields. If you would like to clarify what the field
in the payment section is for, in v7x you can configure the text labels
separately so you could label that one something like 'Company (if
corporate credit card)'. In v7x you can also turn off the company field
in the billing and shipping address sections if you really want to, see
Commerce Setup -> Order Sytem -> Checkout (or Commerce Setup -> Order
System -> Shipping if you have v7.0).

Thanks, Loren. I could've sworn that the Company field in the payment
section was required, but I just tried it and it looks like it is not
required. I'll change the text to read "Company Name if using Corporate
Credit Card" or something similar.
