Multi Language question

Hi,

My shopsite site is almost done with version 7,
I wanted to consider also doing a french version, the software is listed at
version 4..

the custom templates are not supported in an older version I read, is it
possible to configure the look of the older Multilanguage stores beyond the
defined templates I see in say version 7?

It is possible to configure everything that the shopper sees in any
western european language. There is a demo french store (Chez Francois)
on the shopsite.com/demo page.

If you want to see a good example of a live store translated to another
language see watersafety.net which is running version 7.0.3 and is
entirely in German.

The merchant interface has not been translated to any language except
english, but if you are fluent in english (as it appears you are) you
should be able to set a store up in French by modifying the text under
Preferences > Store Text.
