Add option to product

Is there a way to add an option to a product?
I have a basket for $15, and I want to add an option to add a ribbon for $3.
I tried the subproduct but that means that I have to create 3 pages for each
product that have that option.

Is there a better way and I am just missing it? I am using version 6.3.1

You could do this:

In the 'order options description' put something like:
Choose your options:

and then in the 'pull down menus' put something like:
No ribbon;
Red ribbon+$3;3
Blue ribbon+$3;3
Platinum ribbon with diamonds+$250;250

etc
