wrong customer log in

wrong customer log in

I think there is a bug in the shopsite when a customers log in, he sees some
else name. Here is inquiry from our customers.

When I log into my online account, I see my name at the top of the screen
when I select View/Edit account but when I select "orders", "payment",
"preferences", or "ship to" someone elses name and information comes up. And
it is not always the same name or information.

Any one has a answer to tis problem

We would like to implement the Customer Registration feature, but haven't
yet because of concern of running into problems such as the one below.

What is the solution/resolution to this issue?

I have not seen this issue. Does anyone have steps that will cause it
to happen?

It looks like this site cut and pasted the HTML link code from the cart page
(order.cgi) for signing in, into a static home page to create a "Log In"
link. However the link code on the cart page is dynamically generated and
contains the shopping cart ID for the user that is viewing that page. So,
once a user clicks the link from the static page and signs in, they are
assigned the cart in the link (the same cart as any other user that has
clicked on that link.) The cart assigned to the user also contains their
registration ID which is used to display the appropriate saved user
information.

The solution for now is to have the static log-in link be the equivalent of
a view cart then they can click the sign-in link on that page and then they
will get their own cart and their own registration ID. The next release of
ShopSite will allow Log In links to be placed on static pages.

BTW, since full payment information is never displayed (even to the signed
in user) there was never any risk of obtaining that information.
