Shopsite v.6 - variable pricing?

I am trying to set up a Shopsite v.6 application for a client. They are
a non-profit organization, and want to be able to accept donations
online, with the potential donator being able to write in the amount
they want to donate.

The ISP is Verio, and I understand there are no plans for Verio to
update their Shopsite installation to v.7 at this time.

Is there any way to generate a Shopsite v.6 template that allows the
user to fill in the price?

The only workaround I could think of for version 6.x is if the client has
ShopSite Pro, you could use the per price ordering options to have an
ordering option of "Amount to donate" in a dropdown list, and have set
amounts with corresponding prices per option. Then you could have a $0.00
product titled "Donation" with the ordering options listing various amounts
they can donate (i.e. $5, $10, $25, etc...).

Thanks, Rob. We are now seeing exactly what Verio can do as far as the

version that's installed is concerned. I personally would prefer the
latest version, since that's the one that supports the feature set that
they really need.
