PayPal and US$ / EUR

Hi all,

toying around with SS 7.0.3 I have just set up a paypal business account
(PayPal is now also available in complete german) and have switched PayPal
on as payment option in -> Commerce -> Payment.

Works fine, BUT the amount to be paid passed from our store to PayPal is
ALWAYS US$. We run our shop in Euro, so I think I am missing some setting
somewhere?! I have already closed all currencies in PayPal (US$, Yen,
British Pounds, Can $) except Euro, but the sum to pay is still in US$.

Anybody with any ideas?

Nikolaus,

ShopSite's PayPal integration will not currently handle non-US Dollar
transactions, this will have to be added in a future version. You might
check out the PayPal module for ShopSite Pro offered by Lexiconn (see
http://www.lexiconn.com/ecommerce/shops ... ddons.html), it
should be able to work with the additional currencies, however it does
not use the PayPal IPN callbacks as ShopSite v7 does, and would work
similar to the ShopSite v6.x PayPal integration where the ShopSite order
is completed, then the shopper is forwarded over to PayPal to complete
payment (but the order appears in ShopSite regardless of whether the
payment was completed in ShopSite).

Hi Loren,

thank you for your feedback.

Does "future version" refers to a 7.x release, 8.0 (next year?) or 8+x
version.

I am willing to wait if it is on the list for 8.x. So far we have survived
without PayPal, so there is no hurry. Gives ebay Germany another year to
advertise the service and have german people sign-up for PayPal, thus
meaning that we will have more customers with their ebay money on their
PayPal accounts to spend with us then

By the way. When I am trying to set up an UPS account through the shopsite
back office, I get a stubborn and simple "Your locale is not supported"
message from shopsite. I thought so far that Germany is a developped country
and that it is integrated within UPS. At least I can get hold of a full set
of shipping programs etc. from the german UPS Website, so why does the
shopsite back office is kicking me back?!
