More Custom Product info

Thank you, yes that worked great for the drop-downs. (using a space to
separate multilpe drop-downs)
Is it possible to get that text entry box on the product page and not on the
shopping cart?
I need the customer to enter text and it's strange to not be able to do it
until it's added to the cart.

If you are running ShopSite 7 and using a custom template you can use
the tag [-- PRODUCT.OptionsBox --] determine if the field is to be
displayed and if it is then you can put the code in to generate the text
entry field to get the text input field on the store pages.

The code would be like this and must be inside a form so it will be
submitted.
[-- IF PRODUCT.OptionsBox "checked" --]
<textarea wrap=physical name="[-- PRODUCT.RecordNumber
--]:freeopt" rows=2 cols=50></textarea>
[-- END_IF --]

There is no way to eliminate it from the shopping cart though.

Hi Mark,

a very simple approach, that we are taking in our shop and that works fine
since years, is to have an additional line in italic in the product
description telling the customer something like: "You can enter further
instructions for this product, once you have placed it into the shopping
cart."
