minicart and Netscape 4

When testing my site in Netscape 4 for Mac, I find that the minicart
(one of the unmodified minicart includes that come with ShopSite) is
causing problems. The page won't display any content beginning with the
minicart. If I remove it, the page displays OK. I tested in two
different versions of NN4. Javascript is on and working in both.

Without dwelling on whether or not it is worth my while to support that
browser, I am wondering if this minicart problem is to be expected. Or
should I start troubleshooting to see why it is not working?

I tried it in Netscape 4.8 on a PC using each of the 4 custom template
themes, Tab, Rounded, Sidebar and Stained Glass and it works in all of
them. Could be a Mac specific issue.

If I use a built-in template, I don't have a problem with NS4 Mac. But I
do with both my own custom template and with Al's Tools when I add a
minicart include. I've tried all the minicart samples that come with the
help files and also copied the javascript from a built-in template which
I knew I could view with NS4. No luck.

I'm stumped but won't lose any sleep over it.
