Advice on Email Contact & Marketing Programs

Postby Larry Bohen » Thu Oct 09, 2003 3:57 pm

Except for letting customers know by email (with Order Manager) that their
order is shipping, we do not contact our customers by email after we ship.
I'd like to create a double opt-in email database of customers and keep in
contact with them.

I am aware of majordomo email programs, Constant Contact and BlueHornet. I
would appreciate anyone's thoughts and experiences about these programs as
well as others.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Larry:

We use our own program Group Mail Pro from

http://www.infacta.com/

And we have been very happy with it. Sends about a thousands emails an hour
over our cable connection. And has a nice selection of free plug-ins.

It is also very inexpensive.

I've heard of someone using a web-based contact manager called aweber,
haven't used it myself, though. It's supposedly cheaper than Roving or
Blue Hornet.

Do you have any problems with messages being bounced by SPAM filters, especially
AOL's? Also, how many members on your send-list?
