Price Format Incorrect

Postby Tink Boord-Dill » Fri Oct 12, 2001 10:02 am

I'm running ShopSite® SC Manager 4.3, in the good ole USofA

The prices, where shown by ShopSite are now in the wrong configuration.

Instead of $XX.XX the prices are displayed as XX$XX

Why? This is driving me nuts.

Thanks,
Tink

Would your ShopSite by any chance be running on an NT or Windows2000
server? If so, it is possible that there is a CTRL-Z character in your
[storeid].aa file. These bad characters can be placed in the file if they
are edited by a text editor that uses a ctrl-z character to represent the
end of the file.

If the file is opened in Notepad (which does not care about ctrl-z
characters so it's the best windows editor to use to modify ShopSite text
files) you will probably see all the tokens on one line separated by solid
black blocks, which is Notepad's interpretation of the Linefeed character.
The ctrl-z character will make it look like there are two black blocks in a
row somewhere bewteen some tokens or at the end of the file. Removing the
second one, which would be the ctrl-z, and saving the file should get rid
of that problem.

You may also want to look at the rest of the tokens in the file to make
sure there are no duplicates of tokens. Do not try to 'fix' the file by
removing all the black block characters and putting the tokens on separate
lines, that would not be good.

If you don't have access to this file, have your ISP fix it. It should be
in the same directory as the Shopping Cart CGI's like order.cgi and
thankyou.cgi and should be named [your storeid here].aa.

Once the file has been fixed you will need to go to Utilities -> Publish
and regenerate your store pages.

Loren -
I believe that we are running on an NT server, so I've contacted my IHP about
it. Thanks for your help.
