Email Receipt Error

Email Receipt Error

This looks like an intermittant problem but several customers have indicated
that they have received a notification (below) about the system not sending
a receipt. When they don't receive one, it usually means that I don't get
my email notification either!

Any ideas how to fix it?? Using ShopSite® Manager 6.2.1

Here's the Error Message they get:
Error

There was an error sending your email receipt.

However, your order has been processed correctly.
Your order number is 1431.

Please warn your merchant (custserv@cookiebaskets.com) that you did not
receive your receipt via email.

If you are using ShopSite v6.2x then your ShopSite is configured to send
the email through an SMTP server, just like the email program on your
desktop does. If the problem is intermittent, then the SMTP server may
be having intermittent problems. If you upgrade to v6.3 then you can
choose (assuming your ShopSite is on a UNIX-based server, not Windows)
between using an SMTP server and using the UNIX sendmail binary, which
in some cases is more stable than an SMTP server. If your ShopSite was
upgraded to v6.2 from a previous version, then it was previously using
the sendmail binary, and upgrading to v6.3x will automatically switch
you back to that configuration.

Thanks Loren; I'll do the upgrade. Since I'm "still" with Interland I will
be doing this on my own. Where do I download the current version (or do I
need to go through sales for this)?

One other question - while reading through forum messages I noticed one from
9/10 that remained unanswered regarding Customer Registration?? any future
plans for this??

You should be able to download it from the same place you downloaded the
prior v6 upgrades, but if you have lost that information, yes please get
in touch with the ShopSite sales department.

Yes, I know there are future plans for a customer registration feature,
it will pronably be in the next release.
