Second item no additional shipping cost?

Post by Swine »

Hello, we have an item that is 24 inches wide, so shipping on it is kind of expensive despite the fact that it is very light. If a customer purchases more than one of them (up to five, actually), the shipping stays the same. But each item added to the cart nearly doubles the shipping calculated by ShopSite (via USPS).

Wondering if there is a way to set up a product so that shipping is calculated normally for a quantity of 1. But if they add any additional of the same item it doesn't add any more shipping charges?

ShopSite’s default shipping calculation determines the cost for one item and then multiplies it by the quantity, which is why you're seeing the shipping cost increase with each additional unit. There isn't a built-in setting to automatically combine multiple items into a single package for shipping rate calculations, but a possible workaround is:
Multi-Pack Products – You can create bundled product listings, such as a 2-pack, 3-pack, or 5-pack, where shipping is calculated per bundle rather than per individual item. This way, customers purchasing multiple items get the correct shipping cost while still allowing flexibility in ordering.

Ultimately I did create bundled product listings.
