Updating ShopSite Links

Postby Ray Washington » Mon Jul 28, 2003 10:22 am

I have a dedicated webserver. I made the decision recently to move to a
faster server with the same company, operating system, and ensim webppliance
pro. With that in mind, I preformed a backup using webppliance and then
restored 1 site at a time to the new server. This worked great for
everything except the shopsite store. I kept the same domain name and just
pointed it to a different IP in the name servers. On initial running the
store, All the pages and products are there. The first problem that came up
was it could't find the store.auth file. I looked at the directories and
discovered that some symlinks were missing. I corrected those and now the
error is ;"couldn't open file sysflags" After looking into it I found the
problem. The first store was installed as the forth site on the server and
when I restored to the new server it is site seven so some link is looking
for the file in site 4. How do I update the store so the links point to site
7? This should fix my problem. I need to get it done so I can cancel the
first server so I don't get billed for another month.

Thanks Much,

You will need to edit the [storeid].aa file in the cgi-bin/ss/ directory and
change the path for the datadir token to indicate the new path since the old one
was to a different site folder. While you are in there, change all other
directory settings to indicate the new path as well. If you kept the same URL
you will not need to change any of the URL settings.
