USPS Maximum Product Weight

Post by peteuga »

Commerce Setup > Shipping > U.S. Postal Service Shipping configure screen gives the option of omitting USPS shipping calculations for products over 70 lbs. Is there a way to change this weight to 20 lbs?

We sell products that are either really light or really heavy and nothing in between and showing a $39 Fedex rate and $655.20 USPS rate for the same item is kinda silly on the heavy items.

peteuga,
Commerce>Shipping> USPS> Configuration> Package Weight and Size Limits> allows you to set the maximum weight that you will put in each box that you ship. (Note that you must use the same unit of measure throughout your store, either pounds or kilograms.) If the combined weight of all products in an order exceeds this weight, it will charge for multiple boxes through USPS. This value should be at least as large as the weight of the heaviest product if you want USPS to be a shipping option. USPS sets a maximum weight of 70 lbs. for shipping, or 35 for machinable packages, but you can set the maximum weight for less.

Thank you. Adjusting the max package weight solved the problem.
