HI,
We started using taxjar in version 14. It worked good for 1 day now we are getting the following error message when a customer tries to checkout
"TaxJar: Bad request to TaxJar: error:400"
When I go to the back office and test taxjar configuration it says connection is successful.
Is anyone else using taxjar? Are you getting the same message?
Taxjar Error 400

Re: Taxjar Error 400
Are you still experiencing this problem? Broadly speaking the error means that ShopSite sent something to TaxJar that it did not like.

Re: Taxjar Error 400
I know this is a post from February 2018 but I get the Taxjar Error 400 from time to time. Here is the Shopsite Alert email I get when it happens below
What is causing the error and how do we correct this?
What was it that ShopSite sent to TaxJar that it did not like?
"Subject: ShopSite Alert: Failure in TaxJar for absorbentsonline, Tracking
ID: 9d185a9a-80db-11e8
An order had an error preventing it from going through.
Module: TaxJar
Error code:
TaxJar: Bad request to TaxJar: error:400

Host Name: Not Determined
Cookies Enabled: Yes

Re: Taxjar Error 400
The alert email you posted does not give all the information. From the ShopSite backoffice (Commerce > Merchant Alerts) you should be able to view the products the shopper was trying to order and their address. Enter the same information and see if you also get the error. Perhaps there is something in the product name or shopper's address that is causing the problem?

One other thing to try, since you know from the alert exactly the date and time when the issue came up, is to ask TaxJar if they can check their web server logs or other logging features to tell you what data was passed that caused them to report a 400 error.
