Left side link to index.html

I just started with Shopsite and am setting up. My theme has left side links. I have been able to set all up successfully, as they show up in my Pages list, except my home page, index.html . I've done this: Navigation>Add Link>Select> ... then page does not come up in menu from which to select - just the pages I have created. There's an option "use any page", where index.html does show up. When I highlight it and click Select, nothing happens. The only other options are Preview Page and Use Shopsite Page which, when selected, brings me back to my list of pages - index.html still isn't there. I'd appreciate guidance. Thanks.

The name listed under the ShopSite pages list is listed as the page name rather than the file name. For index.html this defaults to your store name and will be listed as such in that menu.

If you still can't find it under your store name another option would be to use Navigation > Add Link > Enter a URL to a non-ShopSite page and put the URL for your home page there.
