Click through Images

Does anybody know of an easy way to create click through images I have over
2000 products that require a click through

Perhaps you are referring to 'thumbnail' images for products that are then links
to the More Info Pages for the products?

That's correct rather than re-sizing 2000 product images I would like to
know of a quick way round this?

I would like every product to have a larger click through or as you call it
more information page if possible.

I understand I could re-size every image and call it a different name and
allocate this to the more info page.
It would be nice if you could somehow resize in the store on the more
information page to make this easier.

Would a custom template help me with this kind of issue?

Paul,
You _could_ use a custom template and specify the height and width of the image
but that would not change how fast the image loads and may change how the image
looks. For example if you have an image that is 185x200 pixels it would be
about 11K in size. If the image was resized in a program like PhotoShop to 46x50
it would only be about 1K in size. But if you just changed the image height
and width tags so the 185x200 pixel image displayed as 46x50 on the web page it
would still be 11K in size and take just as long to download. Or if you took a
46x50 image and tried to upsize it to 185x200 it would be very grainy.

The best solution is to resize the images in a program like Photoshop to be the
exact size they need to be on the webpage and have one of a thumbnail size for
the product page and a larger version for the Moreinfo page. A script could be
created in Photoshop (or other image editing software) to take all of the images
in a directory and resize them and give them a slightly different name so you
would have a large and small version of each.

Photoshop already will do this automatically. Just select the folder you
want to have images resized, set the settings in photoshop and click a
button. Go have a coffee and you come back and all set.

It is used for creating a slide show, so look for that feature and try it.
(but I throw out the show and just use the images)
