Problems with 6.3 an Norwegian setup of IE

Postby kristian » Wed May 21, 2003 4:21 am

Hello ShopSite.

I have just upgraded one of our stores to the 6.3 version.

If I add a new product, the "Starting Quantity"'s first "Price/Unit" unit
field i set to 0.00
(One of the the new fields handeling "Product Quantity Pricing:" )

The locale is norwegian.

If i submit this new product i get:

*********
Error

There is an incorrect numeric value or format in one of your Price/unit
fields.
Please check for invalid characters and misplaced punctuation and try again.
*********

This can be fixed by setting the field to "0" og blank.
The "Price" fild is set to 0,00 witch is right.
The problem is the "." i stead of ","
This is because norwegian uses "." as a thounsend seperator.

The same problem occures in Add/Edit a Cupon (since this was introduced),
but this is not a big problem.

We have a couple of other stores and we use imort rutines for them. This
gives us a big problem.

I can probalby add a field to the imort string with a single "0" by default,
but this may cause overwriting opoblems if we use thsi funciton manualy on a
product.

Can you help with this?

Best regards,
Kristian

Hi Kristian,

we are located in Germany, have the same setup -> 1.000,00 and we have the
same problem.

But there is more:

If you switch on the quatitity pricing feature and enter your price-breaks
in the format

1 7,95
10 6,95
etc.

Shopsite will accept the numbers as they are correct with the komma here,
BUT it will ignore everything behind the komma, when the article is placed
in the cart. An item for 7,95 will end up with 7,00 in the cart, if you set
the quantity to 10 the item will cost 6,00 and not 6,95 !

Therefore the quantity pricing option can only be used for pricings ending
with ,00 at the moment in our set-up :-((
This needs some work from shopsites side.

To be complete:

The point and comma issue is also present in the coupon as you have
mentioned Kristian, but also in the ordering options.

Example: You have an article for 72,95 and want to have an add on in the
ordering options for 12,95, you will need to write currently in the
pull-down menue field in the product page:

add-on text for this article (12,95);+12.95

Only if you use a point with the last number, your cart will calculate
correctly. If you use:

add-on text for this article (12,95);+12,95

there will only be 12,00 added to the cart when selecting the option.

Regards,

Niko
